"Bluegrass band The Often Herd transcend the traditional boundaries of the genre. Although they might resemble an American string band, complete with driving energy, tight vocal harmonies and dazzling instrumental interplay, their vibrant, transatlantic sound is deeply coloured by their surroundings; the striking natural and industrial landscapes of Northern England."

"Renowned vocalist Hannah Rarity has left an indelible mark on the Scottish folk scene, securing her place as a standout artist.
Her albums, 'Neath the Gloaming Star' (2018) and 'To Have You Near' (2022), both garnered critical acclaim, being shortlisted for Album of the Year at the BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. Performing a carefully chosen mix of traditional, contemporary and self-penned material, her ethereal voice is reminiscent of legends such as Eva Cassidy and Cara Dillon."
The Great Corby Playground has been in a state of dis-repair for a number of years now. Following a safety report in 2023 there were a number of key safety concerns raised. In light of this, the Great Corby Village Association has applied and been successful in securing over £41,000 of funding through Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust and Wetheral Parish Council.
We have been working with Kompan to choose a range of items that will bring our playground up to similar standards to other playgrounds in the Parish.
It is likely that works will start the week commencing the 8th June and will continue for about 2 weeks. During this time the playground will have areas cordoned off, so please bear with us and we apologise for any inconvienience this may cause.
